YDY 2×2.5 450/750 V is a round installation cable in a white PVC sheath, with copper conductors of 2.5 mm² cross-section, sold in 100 m coils.

Application

This cable is intended for permanently laid installations, without additional mechanical protection. Surface-mounted and concealed installation is permitted in dry and damp environments. It is also foreseen for permanent installation inside electrical equipment.

Construction and specifications

The conductors are copper and solid. The core insulation and the outer sheath are made of PVC, and the sheath is white. The rated voltage is 450/750 V, and the operating temperature falls within the range from −30 °C to +70 °C. The standards cited for this cable are PN-E-90056:1987 and PN-EN 50525-1:2011, and core identification follows PN-HD 308 S2:2007. The core colours of this version are given in the table below.

The cross-section is decided by the current-carrying capacity of the circuit and the protective device matched to it, and the number of cores by the layout of the installation.
