DY 6 mm² 450/750 V is a single-core copper wire with a solid conductor in PVC insulation, sold in 100 m coils.

Application

DY wires are used for connections made once and permanently: inside electrical equipment and in lighting fittings — both inside and outside. The second area is installations run in conduit, surface-mounted and concealed. The product data gives the same application for both voltage versions of this type.

Construction and specifications

The conductor is copper and solid — hence “drut” in the name of the type. The insulation is made of PVC, and the operating temperature is −30…+70 °C. The product data gives the standards PN-E-90054:1987 and PN-EN 50525-2-31:2011, and for core identification PN-HD 308 S2:2007. The insulation comes in seven colours, including green-and-yellow; the colour is chosen in the options on this page.

How to choose

Three things matter in the choice. The method of installation — in protective conduit, or directly inside a piece of equipment or a fitting. The cross-section and the voltage version, which differ between pages: the full set of variants together with the selection criteria is gathered in the DY single-core wires collection. The stiffness of the conductor — if the connection is to be bent repeatedly, LgY single-core wires are used instead of solid wire.

Application

Designed for permanent protected connections inside electrical equipment and inside or outside lighting fixtures. Suitable for installation in surface-mounted or concealed conduit systems, exclusively for signalling and control circuits.
